Great New Apps for Cat Lovers

Do you have a cat and a smartphone? Chances are, if you’re reading this, you probably do! We’ve seen some amazing technological advances in recent years, and it doesn’t look like this trend will be slowing down anytime soon. While taking care of your furball is still, for the most part, fairly low tech, you might be surprised to find how many great apps there are for our feline friends and their admirers.

Here are a few of our favorites:

Cat Training

This neat app offers plenty of tips on kitty behavior, care, and training. The app may very well prove invaluable for first-time cat owners, but there’s plenty of content for seasoned kitty owners, too!

PetSnap

Have you ever tried to snap an adorable photo of your feline friend, only to have your kitty ruin the shot by looking away or moving? Petsnap helps you get great photos by making sounds that are guaranteed to get Fluffy’s attention.

PetToxins

This app compiles a list of substances that are toxic to our feline friends. The plant directory is extremely helpful, as it contains photos and other information that will help you identify poisonous plants in your home and yard. Recognizing what is harmful to your cat is just the first step. If you suspect your cat has allergies or skin issues, check out our “Pet Allergies and Veterinary Dermatology” service page for more detailed information on how we can help manage and treat these conditions.

Pet First Aid

We hope you’ll never have to use a first aid app, but we recommend downloading one just in case. In a bad situation, this app could save your kitty’s life! The Red Cross Pet First Aid app also allows you to program your veterinarian and emergency numbers into the phone, so you won’t have to scramble in an emergency.

Kitty’s Favorites

We couldn’t leave out the apps that are made just for Fluffy! Paint for Cats will let your furball express her artistic side by allowing her to ‘paint’ with her paws. If your kitty is more of a hunter than an artist, try Game for Cats or Catch The Mouse to keep her amused. Cat Lingo, a meow generator, is also lots of fun. Your kitty’s reactions may be priceless! Speaking of feline behavior, you might enjoy our article on “New Year’s Resolutions for Extremely Judgmental Cats“, which offers a humorous take on how our feline friends might improve themselves this year.

Of course, these are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to apps for cat lovers. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of cat-themed apps available! Pickings range from fun and silly apps like Cat Piano and LolCatmaker, to addicting games like Nyan Cat.
